Air King Energy Star 1.5-Sone Quiet Series Bath Fan

I'm giving this product five stars because I've installed these in the past and it's an excellent ventilation unit, and because Air King has excellent customer support BUT...

.... this was ANOTHER Amazon shipping disaster: the fan was packed in exterior box into which it fit tightly, the result was that the venturti was cracked in half and the collar and damper were broken into 11 pieces (I counted).

I'm hardly surprised that arrived in the conditioner it did given the spectacularly negligent nature of the packaging and especially given that I frequently receive orders in a condition which leads me to suspect that the FedEx sorting crew is been playing basketball with them - IMO anybody who intends to surrender merchandise to the tender mercy of FedEx ought to assume it's going to be treated as badly or worse, and package accordingly.

Like the previous reviewer said the product arrived damaged. Both the collar and damper which is made out of plastic was in a number of pieces. You could see when it arrived that the box it comes in was damaged and the plastic collar is flushed with the cardboard box. Amazon should have sent this item within another box with packaging cushion to prevent this.
Never got to install and use the fan so can't say how the product actually works. Bought this item based on consumer report's high rating and the price seemed right.
Hopefully Amazon will treat this package as a fragile item and ship it out like glassware with extra padding... maybe the next customer will not be as disappointed as I was. I am returning the item for a full refund and looking for another place where they will treat packaging with a little more respect.

I ordered and received this fan after reading the reviews. I too thought the "damaged goods" issue had been rectified but, that isn't necessarily the case. My fan arrived via UPS with no apparent damage to the box. I found that the inner plastic frame that holds all of the fan's components was broken at one of the two places where it connects to the outer metal box which completely encloses the fan assembly. I really want this fan and will try again with another.
