This review is from: Broan HD80L 80 CFM 2.5 Sones Heavy Duty Fan/Light (Tools & Home Improvement) Overall, I'm pleased with this Broan ventilation fan. It is a well-built, heavy-duty version of the average market fan with no real innovations apparent. It has a solid construction and a strong quiet fan. That said, I had a few installation issues. First, the black baffle adapter connecting the fan to its vent pipe was cheaply made and did not "click" properly onto the fan housing. It had to be taped into place. Second, the outer fan housing has provisions for attachment on only one side. If you need the fan to exhaust in a different direction relative to your house framing, you will have to frame in new support to provide support on the side of the fan housing with screw holes. Third, the designers of the fan did not seem to consider the vibration issues between the metal and plastic fan parts. This unit replaced an unlit unit (also a Broan). Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Broan HD80L 80 CFM 2.5 Sones Heavy Duty Fan/Light (Tools & Home Improvement) I agree with the previous reviewer about the vibration. It was significant enough that I thought the unit might be defective and returned it for a replacement. It made no difference. I was able to reduce much of the vibration noise by mickey-mousing it with duct tape between some of the contact points. However, significant vibration remains and I worry that the light bulb's life may be reduced because of it. I guess we'll see. |
