The Broan/Nautilus 180 cfm direct discharge fan helps eliminate humidity from laundry rooms, tobacco smoke from rec rooms and workshops, or cooking fumes from kitchens. The fan is capable of filtering 180 cubic feet of air per minute at 6.5 sones, and the housing adjusts to fit walls 4-1/2-to-9-1/2-inches thick. The fan comes complete with a built-in damper to minimize backdrafts and an 11-1/2-inch square metal grille. The fan is backed with a 1-year limited manufacturer's warranty.

I purchased this exhaust fan to replace the one in our 1950's home. The original was the same company (NuTone) and was probably about 20+ years old. I was happy to discover this was just about the same size and seemed to be the only option that had a on off switch on the fan instead of having to wire it to a light switch... I really liked that option. Installation was good, instructions were easy to follow. I knew when I bought it that it would be loud.. and MAN is that true! Luckily we don't run it for long periods of time. My only complaint is that it lacks support screws to anchor it into the wall. Since the existing hole in the wall was about .25" larger in diameter, the fan unit sits loosly in the hole. So you can wiggle it if you grab it.
