This review is from: Broan Model 512 6-Inch Through Wall Utility Fan, 90 CFM, 3.5 Sones (Tools & Home Improvement) This is a great fan. I used it to exhaust hot air from my server closet (a linen closet in the hallway where the top 1/5 is network stuff) into the hallway. It installed perfectly, and looks good.
You WILL want to reduce the speed on this fan. It is unbearably loud for a interior solution. I thought I could get away with using a variable speed switch from my local store, but that did not work. I tried both a fan switch and a light dimmer -- both completely fail on this fan. You have to use the Broan variable speed wall controller (sense I got the white one, the model is Broan 57W). Amazon lists it, but its out of stock: Broan 57W. I ordered it elsewhere. Check the images above, I should have one uploaded of this installed in my hallway. 8 of 8 people found the following review helpful: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Broan Model 512 6-Inch Through Wall Utility Fan, 90 CFM, 3.5 Sones (Tools & Home Improvement) This product was easy to install and is excellent in the fact that it is straight through the wall and no off to the side. Fairly high powered and can empty out a room of odors or high heat in under 15 minutes. Broan is a good company to purchase from. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Broan Model 512 6-Inch Through Wall Utility Fan, 90 CFM, 3.5 Sones (Tools & Home Improvement) Fan is whisper quiet and powerful for an interior bathroom with access to a ventilation shaft. Should be purchased with Broan/Nutone P57 control switch to regulate fan speed. |
