I bought this as a replacement for an older Broan model which was not heavy duty. I was originally just going to buy the motor and plate and replace mine, but I'm glad I did not because it wouldn't have fit even though the housing part numbers are the same. They obviously changed in the past 12 years. This unit is much quieter than the old unit and I can feel air being pulled underneath the bathroom door into the bathroom when I have the fan on. No more steam on the mirror during showers now. This complete unit was not much more than just the blower assembly (fan motor, plastic fan and motor plate) offered on another site. I bent the small metal tang up in the housing to make a CFL bulb fit. Definitely worth the price!
