This review is from: Broan Model QTR110L 110 CFM Ultra Silent Bath Fan, White Grille (Tools & Home Improvement) We installed this fan in our small downstairs bathroom. Works great for tight spaces having the fan and light in one. The fan does seem a bit noisy however we think that is due mostly to the tile floor. We have the same brand and size fan upstairs (w/o the light) in our vinyl floor bathroom and the fan is so quiet you don't know it is even on. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful: By Chaz (PA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Broan Model QTR110L 110 CFM Ultra Silent Bath Fan, White Grille (Tools & Home Improvement) I bought and installed three of these fans to replace old units. They run fine, have a nice little night light, and can run on a standard compact florescent bulb if desired to save energy. They really don't seem that quiet, but are not overly loud either. I guess moving air makes noise... There is no motor hum or vibration, and the noise is not objectionable. Correct installation would have the housing of the fan extend down below the drywall. However in a retrofit, this can't easily be done, as the vent tube and mounting flange are on the sides of the housing, making a larger hole needed to push it up from below. I ended up mounting them just on top of the drywall, and will cover the drywall edge with aluminum tape. Because the old fans were vented directly to the attic w/o vent hose, the drywall in our ceiling is not flat, which would also cause problems with correct through-the-drywall installation. As others point out, the wire harness is very...Read more 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Broan Model QTR110L 110 CFM Ultra Silent Bath Fan, White Grille (Tools & Home Improvement) Ever since I bought my house I have had a problem with steam in the bathroom after a shower. I replaced the original fan with one of those decorative Harbor Breeze light/fan, it was garbage, it should have been labeled light not light/fan. So a friend recommended this light/fan and it is great, we can take a shower with the water as hot as it can go and until it runs out and there is never any steam on walls or mirrors. **Extra information - when I first installed the fan it was making a lot of noise and I didn't understand why. I had a bug screen on the outside exhaust that was dirty and was restricting the air flow, once I cleaned it, the noise went away. |
