Installed one is a condo I owned several years ago and was very pleased. Recently purchased newer condo and the builder-grade fans were very noisy and didn't move much air. After a shower, the bathroom was dense with water vapor and the mirror had condensation on it. Broan has designed this model to be an easy replacement although you will need to make the ceiling opening larger. But the electrical connection and transition to the existing exhaust venting is pretty simple. And the best part is that these fans are very quiet! Now when done showering, the room is clear and there is no condensation on the mirror. Should note, however, that you need to be careful how you attach the fan to an existing joist. Best to run the fan while securing the fan so that you can apply just the right amount of tension to get the quietist possible mounting.

Not quiet at all,

We replaced a builder installed fan that sounded like a motor boat, and bought this fan as it was advertised as the most quiet and less "sones" than the others. From what I understand 1 sone should be equivalent to about 40 decibels. Well I measured our decibal level and it is 65-70 which is still pretty loud. It is marginally quieter than our previous fan but we are very disappointed in the sound level. I don't see how they can advertise "whisper quiet". We have the fan in the toilet closet with high ceilings.

GREAT! Installed in existing 5'x9'2 bathroom used often, no steam from shower. Cut 3-4" additional gyp. board at exhaust length to retrofit.
