It's definitely quiet. I won't say 'silent' - I'm not even sure it's truly possible for a fan at this price to be 'silent.' But it's way way quieter than the bare-bones fan I used to have. The night light is nice, too. The main light at first is a bit dim, but after a minute or so it brightens up. We had it installed in the center of the bathroom. We kept the over-the-mirror lights for tasks that require bright lighting at the mirror (e.g., putting on makeup). And the price was great on Amazon - $50 less than the exact same fan at one of the chain hardware stores (where they said it was on sale...).

Nice ffan, quiet, no foggy vanity mirrors what so ever when it has been runing during a shower. The light is bright and energy eff. Only thing is it takes the light a minute to warm up and get bright, very dim when first turned on. The night light is also a plus as better to turn it on of the night if you need to use the bathroom and you dont have to fight the standard bright light with your eyes - also nice if you just want to leave one on.

Powerful and quiet, well worth the investment. Meant for new construction so if retro fitting in a remodel situation it requires some extra work when replacing a smaller fan/light. Requires double switch with extra switch leg for the night light feature but well worth the effort.
