This review is from: Broan QTXE080 80 CFM Ultra Silent Bath Fan, White Grille (Tools & Home Improvement) I've installed this in my bathroom with shower in tub. I had a lot of peeling paint due to humidity getting underneath the paint and bubbling it up. The room would be humid and misty like a sauna after someone takes a hot shower. I got this fan due to the low sone rating (0.3) and low amperate/wattage requirements. The 6" duct helps to reduce the noise from the fan. The fan was about as loud as the old Vornado fan that I used to have years back. It was fairly silent but does a great job of sucking out all the air from a room. Now the bathroom stays well vented, and no condensation can be felt on the walls nor seen on the mirror. It's money well spent!
Installation was a breeze and everything works like it is supposed it. No bad surprises. I highly recommend this over the 4" duct models which are much louder. From outside the bathroom, you can't hear the fan, but inside if everything is off and you just listen, you can still hear it going. This review is from: Broan QTXE080 80 CFM Ultra Silent Bath Fan, White Grille (Tools & Home Improvement) After dealing with bathroom fans through the years that sounded like jet engines at the airport, it is a delight to finally have one that is virtually silent. You just have to remember to turn it off!! 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: By Craig (Chicago, IL) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Broan QTXE080 80 CFM Ultra Silent Bath Fan, White Grille (Tools & Home Improvement) I just installed this in a 6' x 6' bathroom that we're updating. It replaced an exhaust fan that was installed in 1988 so the visual upgrade alone is well worth it. It was very easy to install with its adjustable arms that get nailed to the joists (it goes in just like a recessed light). The hardest part was patching the drywall after the install was complete, the rest just took time and patience since this is the first fan I've installed. You won't be disappointed with how quiet this fan runs, I promise, you can barely hear it from five feet away. Sure, you could get an exhaust fan from a big box store for $20-30 but the quietness of the Broan is worth the premium price. |
