Summary: Excellent! 2010-08-28
Comment: After we purchased our house the existing fan in our master bathroom stopped working. After much research online and visiting countless local home stores to check on price, sound, and looks we bought this fan from Amazon. Our bathroom is about 80sf and we no longer get condensation on the mirror like before so I know it's actually working well. It's simple and modern looking and unlike other reviews I find it true to the white color stated. The fan makes just enough noise to let you know it's on which is great, it's very quiet really. We also love that it takes 2 standard bulbs (not fluorescent)so there is tons of light and we still use our existing dimmer when we like. The only issue I have with the fan is with the really stupid person at Hunter who decided to put the logo on the frosted glass right smack in the center. At first I was mortified but after 6 months of use I have honestly forgotten all about it and the other great things far outweigh my issue with the logo. Price is fantastic and we are very happy so far.

Comment: I thought I had done this once, but am only too happy to do it again. We were" de-lighted" with the Hunter fan, the price we paid for it and the speed in which it arrived. Two days from the sender to our door.
What more can we say?

Summary: Cheaper on Hunter site 2009-05-24
Comment: oddly enough, the Hunter fans show lower list prices on their own site, and lower "discounted" prices as well. I find Amazon is usually cheapest. Not in this case. Check out http://www.cpohunterfan.com/products. Haven't got this fan yet; still shopping.

Summary: Beautiful, quiet, and easy to install ventilation fan! 2009-05-08
Comment: I spent quite a bit of time pricing, comparing, and researching various models of light/fan assemblies to install in the small bathroom off my master bedroom. After visiting all the local home improvement stores, I expanded my search online. I slowly narrowed down my options and this Hunter fan bubbled to the surface.
A few things to keep in mind as you're doing your due diligence to locate the fan that works for you.
First, you should be aware that most ventilation fans are made of white plastic. If your bathroom has a window that doesn't block the sun's UV, over time this nice white plastic will yellow. I didn't want that, so this narrowed my options down to units that have no visible plastic. This GREATLY reduced my options.
Second, carefully consider whether you want a fan that is silent or near silent. I visited my local home stores and demoed these silent fans and decided I didn't want them. If they're totally silent, I can't tell if they're even on! I didn't like this. I wanted a little rushing sound just to let me know that it is, in fact, operating.
Ventilation fan noise is rated in "sones." Three or four sones is about as loud as a quiet conversation. Six sones is very loud. Any fan with a sone rating under 1 is almost totally silent. This Hunter fan is rated at 2.5 sones, which I found to be ideal. Since the fan is off the bedroom, it's loud enough to remind me it's operating, block out any quiet sounds I don't want anyone in the bedroom to hear, yet it is quiet enough not to bother whoever is trying to sleep in the bedroom.
The fan is rated at 80 CFM, which is just right for my bathroom (I calculated it needs a minimum 30 CFM fan). If you have a small bathroom, I'd suggest a fan two to three times the minimum CFM rating for your room. The higher the CFM, the greater the breeze you will feel through the room. When you're taking a shower, too much breeze can feel uncomfortable. It might be tempting to go overboard with the CFM rating, but if you're like me and enjoy a comfortable and relaxing shower, I'd suggest you get only what you need.
I found installation to be a breeze! Aside from the usual miserable attic installation issues, installing this fan was painless. The assembly is light and the fan housing compact (only 6-1/2" high). After the housing is installed in the attic, the wiring, fan, and light are installed below, in the bathroom.
The final installation is outstanding! No plastic visible anyplace. The marbled and frosted glass is very attractive and the hush of the fan is exactly what I was looking for.
I'd recommend this fan for those who, like me, are looking for an easy fan to install that is both attractive and functional. The Hunter series of ventilation units meets these expectations at a reasonable price.

Summary: Peace and quiet! 2008-08-11
Comment: I purchased two of these exhaust fans/lights for my recently remodeled bathrooms. Such a difference from the jet-engine exhaust fans that were previously installed. All you hear is a low humming that is quite tolerable. The fans do a good job removing moisture in my small baths. I wouldn't call the cover "white" exactly... more of a pale whitish-grey... but it does blend well w/ the white ceiling.
