When I received this fan I was a little surprised I had not noticed it was made to project about 3 inch's outside the building, then after going back and looking at the picture it didn't actually show how it looked from behind. Anyway it works great; I built a box inside my shed so it would fit in the wall like I wanted it. Now the louvers are flush with the outside of the building and trimmed out with molding. It is very quiet and moves air out quick. I did the math and it actually moves air out faster than the code calls for in my 12'X16" shed I built. The long 10' cord works well for reaching over to the generator just in case we have a power outage the fan can pull exhaust fumes out.

We purchased one of these for use in a remote location. Its on/off switch is linked to the louvers, so we had to remove this linkage to allow the fan to be plugged into a switched receptacle, and have the louvers open and close automatically as air from the fan push them open. Works fine with the change.
