We bought this fan as an upgrade from our standard builder model. It's attractive and inexpensive, but those are pretty much the best qualities. I read lots of bad reviews about the motor going bad on this model, but our contractor liked it. Well, needless to say, after 12-14 months of standard use, it started to slow down after being on for 10 minutes or so. Finally, one day, after being on for about 10 minutes, the motor gave out. This thing has been a pain, and unfortunately, that seems to be the standard review for it. Look around, pay a bit more, and you'll be happy in the long run.

As others have stated here, this isn't the best fan/light combo you'll find out there. On the plus side, it's relatively easy to install and pulls a decent amount of air. On the negative side, it is ridiculously cheaply made with a design flaw that sees the plastic turbine that spins around simply forced onto the middle rotor - within a month, this had slid down from centrifugal force and started banging onto the metal vent, risking a possible jam that would have subsequently fried the whole motor. I found a temporary fix by pulling the motor out (via the ceiling and not the attic, at least) and raising the turbine back up on the rotor and literally crazy gluing it in place. That worked for another three months and now this morning it shut down again in a different manner entirely - I'll take it apart to see what's up, but following my initial problem I had called Nutone customer service and (again, on the plus side) they sent me a brand new replacement motor no questions asked...Read more

I haven't seen many good reviews of this product. However, I have had 3 of these fans in my home since I purchased my home and all have been quiet, reliable fans that look good too. It wasn't until they were 12 years old when 2 of the fans that were used the most started to have problems. I ordered the same fans again and replaced the inner component of the fan assembly, but not the outer component that attaches to the floor joists above. It was simple and took like 10 minutes to replace. For bathroom fans to last 12 years with regular usage by a family of 5 makes this seem like a quality product to me. If the fan were noisy or otherwise had issues I would have purchased a different product or rated them poorly, but I have no complaints at all with this product.
